We are proud to announce that as per today more than 1200 people have already registered for the conference at. We are delighted with the enormous response and thank all our contributors! In total, there will be 42 Mini-Symposia with more than 230 speakers, 87 Contributed Sessions with more than 340 speakers and around 100 Scientific Posters! Mathematicians from all over the world were invited to contribute, representing all mathematical disciplines. There will be 10 Plenary Lectures, 31 Invited Lectures, several Prize Lectures (10 EMS Prizes, the Otto Neugebauer Prize, and the Felix Klein Prize) and numerous special sessions. The 7th European Congress on Mathematics will take place 18-22 July in Berlin. Two well prepared bids will be presented, representing Sevilla (Spain) and Portorož (Slovenia), which will be followed by a vote. Two new Vice-Presidents are to be elected and three otherĪnother important question for Council delegates is the site of the 2020 congress. Important questions to address include the replacement of the Executive Committee members whose mandate expires at the end of the year. On 16-17 July, the EMS’s highest authority, the Council, will meet in Berlin prior to the Congress. We are all looking forward to a memorable meeting! See below for an update on the preparations. In under two months’ time, the 7th European Congress on Mathematics will open in Berlin. The award ceremony was held at the University Aula in Oslo. Wiles (University of Oxford, UK) received the Abel Prize from HRH The Crown Prince Haakon of Norway.
